By The River collects from Singers recent multi-media works, sketchbook pages, prints, and drawings laying out a saturated and dense vision of The City. Moving through and perceived from a multitude of vistas The City as scape is subject during the construction of intuitive maps. She assembles said maps from pencil and marker drawings sketched en route. That all her maps are inevitably tied to a physical location puts her work into a psychogeographical realm where The City as fantasy landscape ablaze is also simultaneously tied to an actual avenue running through.
